UPDATE:Eddy is now an author for techtweet. I will also be registering techtweet.com soon

Tek Zone, To Become ……….

I have been thinking it through, and I think Tek zone needs a re name, and a domain. In the next couple of days I will ask Thomas what he thinks (or if he still wants to be apart of the blog). I was thinking “Tech Tweet.com” as a domain. Feedback would be great, any ideas much apreciated.

“Liger” Update To Leopard

Developers have received their first pre-release build of the Mac OS X 10.5.2 updater, and it’s a biggie.

Says tech news website “ITWire”. They say the update will fix many graphical issues and also some “under the hood” issues

Changes have reportedly been made to the Finder, iCal, iChat, Mail, Safari and Time Machine, along with fixes for Rosetta, AirPort (this one’s for you, Sam!) and other components including the CUPS printing system and grammar checking.

One highly anticipated update is that of the “Stacks” feature in Leopard, the update adds a new “view” to stacks called “List”.

The update could be released as early as next month, and my coincide with Macworld Expo.

P.S For those of you who didn’t get the title, the Liger is a huge wild cat, a mixture of Tiger and Leopard.

Hitman The Movie-Comming 06.Dec.07

I just got back from watching Rush Hour 3 with some mates, where I saw a poster for Hitman the movie. It’s based on the game and it’s not a CGI movie, I have to say Agent 47 looks good, he is bald and has that stupid barcode, any fan of the game should go watch the Hitman_movie1movie, even though it’s a little early I think this movie is going to be great. It’s great how they are telling us all the information that wasnt in the movie (Where he was born, who raised him etc). I encourage you to go and watch the trailer to see if it’s the kind of movie you would watch

Halo Movie-Microsoft Needs Help Getting It Back On It’s Feet!

Microsoft is in talks with several potential partners to help get the movie back up on its feet.

After their dealings with Universal and Fox to work on the Halo movie fell through, Microsoft had no choice but to start looking elsewhere. According to Peter Jackson’s representative Ken Kamins, they are already in talks with several other potential partners to help continue work on the movie.

Ken says that thanks to executive producers Jackson and Walsh, prep work on the movie has started back up. Weta Digital and Weta Workshop in New Zeland are handling most of the pre-production visual effects for the movie.

Rumors for Fox and Universal pulling out of the project were that they had concerns over the movie reaching to high of a budget. According to Ken, the breakup stems from disputes that occurred after Fox and Universal attempted to lower Microsoft’s profit margin.

“What happened was this: Universal, on behalf of both studios, asked for a meeting with the filmmakers just prior to the due date of a significant payment,” explains Kamins.

“Basically, they said that in order to move forward with the film, the filmmakers had to significantly reduce their deals. They waited until the last minute to have this conversation. Peter and Fran, after speaking with their producing partners and with Microsoft and Bungie, respectfully declined.”

Ken also had a few kind words to say about Neal Blomkamp, the creator behind the spectacular Halo shorts.

“Everybody is supremely confident in Neal,” Kamins says. “Part of what excited Peter and Fran was Neal’s vision. We’re very confident this film will move forward with the creative partners intact, who will take the film to production.”
